Hungarian Red Cross

The Hungarian Red Cross was founded in 1881. The Hungarian Youth Red Cross is the youth branch of the Hungarian Red Cross, which has been active since 1921, offering programmes, camps, training and volunteering opportunities for young people.

The aim of the organization

The Hungarian Red Cross helps those in need in many areas. It has been involved in blood donations since 1939 and has been providing a voluntary first aid service on the beaches of Lake Balaton since 2007. The preschool and school programmes provide recreational activities for children, focusing on health awareness and responsible community involvement. They also organise camps, such as the Seven Wonders Camp and the National Camp for Contemporary Preparation. They also provide a tracing service to help family members who have been separated by war, armed conflict, political persecution or natural disasters to find each other.
